Superintendent

A well known construction company is looking for a qualified superintendent to add to their team.

Job Description:

The Superintendent will be managing the Carpenters who are responsible for the full range of rough and finished skilled carpentry work. He/she will also be managing the civil side of the heavy equipment operations. This will include wood/metal framing with some light drywall work and all dirt work/pipe laying. He/she will also be installing wall coverings, setting cabinets, installing trim and base, Doors and Hardware, bathroom partitions. This individual will lead his/her team and is expected to be hands on working alongside the rest of the team. There will be coordination with other Subcontractors on the work as well.

Must Haves:

-Must have 3+ years Superintendent Experience and previous foreman experience hands on in the field as either a Carpenter or related trade.
-Must have a valid drivers license
-Must have experience with safety training. Safety is priority on all their jobs so this individual must follow their safety protocol.
-Must be able to clearly and professional communicate with other team members as well as the client/owners rep
-Must have their own hand tools since they will be working half the time hands on. LBC will have all major tools and equipment, but their ideal worker has a tool shed full of tools.
-Must be ok with Travel. Most of their work will be in and around Indy, but their client sometime dictates where they go.(Fort Wayne and the surrounding states).
-Dependability is a must(You cannot showcase your skills if you do not show up to work.)
-This person has to have a sense of urgency as they have a schedule to meet.
Must be able to read blue prints/drawings
-Must be able to do layout

Nice to Haves:

+Experience with the following installs:
Hanging Ceiling Grid and Ceiling Tile
Installing Windows
Installing Tile and other flooring
+Ability to operate heavy equipment
+Osha 30 Hour at least a 10 Hour OSHA(If they don't already have they will get soon after they start)

Travel Pay:

Per Diem for Workers that stay out of town will be $35/day plus hotel covered.
250+ miles away from home Per Diem will be $50/day and an additional $2/hr on top of their normal pay rate
Mileage Reimbursement at 40 cents/mile

Hours:

Start time is 7:00-7:30am in the morning and they work til the day is done, which is typically a 10 hour day(But can be longer). This is a M-F job but Saturday work is very likely. Their workers are getting anywhere from 50-60 hour per week now. In the winter time that will get closer to 40-50 with some jobs being capped at an 8 hour day.
