AUTO DETAILER

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

Detailers make sure that each vehicle is in top condition by thoroughly washing, buffing, waxing & detailing it.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Must have a strong attention to detail.

·         Wash vehicle exterior to clean cars, using cleaning solution, water, cloths, and brushes.

·         Apply wax to auto body, and wipes or buffs surfaces to protect surfaces and preserve shine, using cloth or buffing machine.

·         Vacuum interiors of vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris, using vacuum cleaner.

·         Clean upholstery, rugs, and other surfaces, using cleaning agents, applicators, and cleaning devices.

·         Apply revitalizers and preservatives to vinyl or leather surfaces, and treats fabrics with spot and stain resistant chemicals to preserve and protect interior components.

·         Clean engine and engine compartment with steam cleaning equipment and various cleaning agents to remove grease and grime.

·         Apply special purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials which do not respond to normal cleaning procedures, utilizing experience and following recommendations of product manufacturer.

·         Ensure every vehicle is clean and free from debris, stains and damages so that it passes Quality Inspection.

·         Report any damages immediately to Quality Inspector and Site Manager.

·         Maintain a positive attitude and professionalism when faced with negative customers or co-workers.

·         Transporting vehicles to/from clients and customers.

• Observe all applicable job related safety and health procedures.
• Ensures that managers and others are advised of problems in sufficient time for action to be taken.

·         Other duties as assigned by Quality Inspector, Site Manager or Operations Manager.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work may be performed in both an inside and an outside environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works around hazardous machinery; in exterior weather and may work under inclement conditions; loud noise environment and a confined work space. The employee will be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high temperatures; fumes, and toxic or caustic chemicals.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Physical demands of the position include frequently standing, walking, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, crawl and climb.   Strength to perform average lifting up to 35 pounds and occasionally over 70 pounds.   Agility, equilibrium and coordination as required when climbing, stooping, kneeling and crouching.  Excellent manual dexterity including repetitive motion tasks are required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Must work well with others

·         Must pass criminal background check

·         Must pass drug test screening

·         High School Diploma/Or GED

·         Reliable transportation

•          A Valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to drive vehicles with both manual and automatic transmissions.
