About this job
Main responsibilities are to inspect modular trailers.
-Inspect chassis, tires, axels, hitches, wiring etc.
-Will go from bay to bay inspecting trailers and replacing parts as needed.
-Should be comfortable changing tires, axels, brake pads, springs, adjusters, hangers, hitch parts etc.
-Will be working on trailers up to 6 axels
-Mostly working on trailers with 3 axels
-Responsible for completing 4-6/plus units per day
-This candidate should have a strong mechanical background/perhaps from auto mechanic
-This person/candidate needs to be very safety conscious... would prefer someone with safety training (OSHA 10 hour).
-The ideal candidate should have a sense of urgency, work safely, work independently.
-Ability to work with hand and power tools
-Responsible for keeping the shop clean
-Will also be required to clean trailers, such as clean floors (buff), wipe down walls, counters, etc.
Assist and or train in the below duties to help service team and the refurbs.
Responsible for refurbishment, check-in, and modification of all trailers in the yard
Clean floors, wax floors (must operate buffer), inspect electrical (basic wiring) systems
Check scrape and seal roofs as needed
Clean all windows, walls, ceilings, fixtures, and doors
Perform carpentry repairs as needed... floors, walls, roofing, siding, windows, fixtures etc
Inspect and repair trailer brakes, hitch, axles, tires, and locks
Install company signage per company guidelines
Also responsible for washing outside of trailers and prepping for delivery to customers
Perform all rent check-ins, physically inspect all incoming units
Maintain a clean working area inside and out, including lawn, parking lot, and building
Perform regular inventory checks and orders
Attend regular safety meetings (must be safety first mentality)
Provides courteous customer service
Must have own basic hand tools... hammer, screw drivers, wrench set, tape measure etc.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to work independently in fast paced environment
Some knowledge of computers
Must have carpentry knowledge
Electrical, plumbing, and welding is a plus
Must be able to use and operate a floor buffer
Some janitorial experience
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Ability to work with a variety of hand and power tools
