PURPOSE OF POSITION: 

 

Assembly Maintenance Millwright will provide technical adhesive / vision system support within the Assembly Maintenance Department in a team environment to support production and carry out the assignments and responsibilities given to them by the Assembly Department Maintenance Manager, Supervisors and Team Leaders. They will work very closely with the Assembly Engineers to support the various adhesive / vision system activities at Kamtek.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY:

Responsible for supporting safety, quality, and productivity while adhering to KAMTEK’s plant standards and upholding the Magna Employee’s Charter.

Also, maintain, troubleshoot, and provide continuous improvement suggestions resulting in minimal downtime of manufacturing equipment in the assembly area.  Support installation and modification of equipment to ensure quality control requirements are met and process enhancements are realized.

 

 

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITIONS:

1)    Follow and enforce all plant safety rules and policies.

2)    Understand and promote Magna’s philosophies (Magna Operational Principles, Corporate Constitution and Employee’s Charter).

3)    Follow and comply with all plant safety standards including LOTO

4)    Must have a solid ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.  Must be able to trouble shoot, remove, disassemble, rebuild, reinstall, and order parts for the following systems: Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Pump Systems

5)    Must have a solid ability to manipulate, troubleshoot & maintain adhesive systems

6)    Understand and perform the Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) system and work within its guidelines.

7)    Must be able to utilize the TIG, MIG, and ARC Welders as well as oxygen and acetylene torches.

8)    Must be able to utilize the milling machine and lathe.

9)    Must be able to work unsupervised.

10) Must have the ability to make decisions, concerning maintenance operations.

11) Must have good housekeeping practices.

12) Must keep in production a fully mechanical automated assembly line, and all the auxiliary equipment which is relation to the line.  Implementation of a preventative maintenance program is also carried out on all mechanical assembly line equipment.  Other duties include maintenance of underground conveyor system. 

13) General overseeing of plant equipment.  The manufacturing of parts for the machine. 

14) Utilizes various cutting tool machines and welding equipment.

15) Adjusts & repairs automotive manufacturing equipment, repairs and services, and test equipment using hand tools and power tools.

16) Disassembles & rebuilds defective equipment as well as replaces defective parts, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, etc.

17) May specialize in repairing specific manufacturing equipment, and equipment that is not specific to the manufacturing process.

18) Troubleshooting and modification to maintain uptime, make modifications to improve efficiency and reliability of equipment and its systems. Oversee modifications by internal and external resources for process changes, new models and expansion.

19) Optimize/upgrade or change equipment based on safety, quality, or production requirements.

20) Must be proficient in MIG welding

21) Must be able to lay-out and build various steel projects from a print and be able to offer ideas for projects

22) Ensure new parts get ordered or return unused parts back to the correct stock location.

23) Promotes good housekeeping (5S)

24) Perform other duties as required

 

 

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

 

SKILL (Ability to do the job)

 

• Must have general knowledge on electrical theory and troubleshooting

• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics

• Ability to use electrical testing and troubleshooting equipment

• Must have general mechanical knowledge

• Must have an eye for attention to detail

• Ability to identify solutions to problems using data, visual inspections, and maintenance best practices

• Must be able to effectively use verbal and written communications.

• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

• Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

 

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

Some of the physical demands for the position include being able to lift a weight of 40 pounds; frequent bending, stooping and stretching; being able to stand for prolonged periods of time; and ability to walk for prolonged periods of time.

 

 

 

EQUIPMENT / TOOLS USED

 

Some of the equipment and tools used are basic hand tools, multi-meter, current meter,

laptop/PC, megohm meter, scales, and infrared thermometer and thermal imaging camera

KNOWLEDGE

 

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school with four years mechanical maintenance experience; or six years mechanical maintenance experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

 

TECHNICAL TRAINING:

 • Experience with Automotive Adhesive Systems

 • Experience with Manual Welding and Fabrication

 

OTHER:  Computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

 

 

 

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

 

WHAT TYPES?  Experience with weld technology in a manufacturing environment
