Senior Civil Engineer

Overview: We are seeking to add a Senior Civil Engineer to its tight knit, interdisciplinary team based in Sidney, Ohio. The company is a premier Design-Build contractor that has constructed a wide variety of large and small commercial, industrial, educational and healthcare projects throughout Ohio and Indiana for more than 100 years. This position will report to, and work side by side with, our Managing Architect. The selected candidate will have the privilege of also working closely with our President, who is also a Civil Engineer. Functioning as a small to medium design department with internal architectural, and civil design staff, the position will work with our current civil designers to design and draft a variety of projects from zoning review and preliminary site layout through construction documents. Responsibilities: Work with current civil designers to direct design, and draft site layout, grading, storm and sanitary systems, and review drawings. Design and help draft asphalt, and concrete paving and slabs. Work with current civil designers to obtain local zoning, and EPA permits as well as any variances required. Attendance and support at occasional zoning meetings. Coordinate, oversee, and manage internal survey crews. Review and seal civil drawings for submission to jurisdictions. Qualifications: BS in Civil Engineering. Professional Engineer License (PE), or ability to obtain it within a year. Minimum 3 years' experience performing civil design or engineering work. Proficient and well versed in Civil 3D/AutoCAD. Revit experience a plus. Must have problem-solving skills, with an understanding of construction and surveying, and a willingness to meet with our customers to understand their civil design needs. Organized with good communication skills. Deadline and detail-oriented, with a customer focus. Concrete and structural steel design or engineering experience a plus. COMMERCIAL/INDUSTRIAL experience (NOT residential, NOT roads or transportation, NOT bridges!) is required.
