Job Summary:

James Tool is seeking an Accounting Assistant. As accounting assistant, you will be expected to perform a variety of general accounting functions along with assisting in invoicing, collections, accounts payable and the monthly financial reporting close process. This position reports to the CFO and is responsible for applying general principles of accounting, reviewing, and analyzing financial information, and preparing financial reports. An ideal candidate is responsive, thoughtful, self-directed, positive, and organized.

 

Job Responsibilities:

Essential functions and responsibilities include the following (while others may be assigned):

  • Completing as needed analytical projects and tasks as requested by senior management.
  • Monitor and review financial transactions and activities for assigned accounts and departments.
  • Prepare monthly and annual reconciliations and financial reports and statements for assigned areas to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and established policies and procedures.
  • Assist Maintaining accurate records of inventory, fixed assets, and other financial data.
  • Maintain accounting controls and audit documents.
  • Assist with audit requests and provide information as requested.
  • Assist in the processing of accounts payable.
  • Assist with the development, review, and implementation of accounting policies and procedures, and the maintenance of supporting documentation and records.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.

Job Requirements:

  • Associate degree in accounting
  • Experience with integrated accounting / ERP software.
  • Manufacturing industry experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the full accounting cycle.
  • Well organized, proactive, with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to adhere to highest standards of confidentiality and discretion in all proprietary business, financial, and employee matters.
  • Ability to adhere to a high level of attention to detail.
  •  Ability to maintain open, direct, positive, and respectful lines of communication with management.
  • Advance Skills in Excels analysis tools.
