The AUEF Equipment Manager is responsible for evaluating, reviewing and researching various types of equipment to accurately determine values for providing independent comprehensive asset valuation reports. Work is varied in nature with changing priorities. Works under limited supervision and in compliance with established policies, procedures and regulations. The AUEF Equipment Manager supports loan/lease and revenue growth through setting residuals and managing the remarketing process for off lease assets. As AUEF grows, this position may require the mentoring/supervision of less experienced Equipment Management personnel that would be added to support the growth.

Position Accountabilities

  • Responsible for evaluating, reviewing and researching various types of equipment to accurately determine values for several different asset classes.
  • Prepare a residual review write-up on equipment for transactions that have an un-guaranteed booked residual. The Equipment Manager will approve acceptable residual values.
  • Responsible for the remarketing process for all equipment returned including end of lease and repossessed equipment.
  • Works with Credit and Regional Directors in providing appropriate structures (term, amortization and useful lives) of assets.
  • Collateral and Market Analysis - Advise and document values of current and potential financed assets. This includes market research on equipment trends and forecasts to determine accurate current and future values of equipment. This requires knowledge of a wide range of asset types and an understanding of various finance structures. It also requires a strong understanding of secondary market performance for a wide variety of asset classes.
  • Responds to requests for equipment valuations and residual approvals in a timely manner. Discusses completion dates with sales and credit partners, and works to meet agreed upon deadlines.
  • Manage the third-party appraisal process by engaging the pertinent appraiser based on the asset type and provide analysis and approval of appraisals.
  • Review and negotiate maintenance and return language to ensure residual positions are adequately protected at end of term on true lease transactions
  • Provide equipment/industry information reports for distribution to designated Atlantic Union teammates.
  • May perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience
  • Relevant Appraiser certifications preferred
  • Professional insight and experience in asset management within the equipment finance market and relevant knowledge of several asset types including Construction, Transportation and Industrial Assets and market characteristics
  • Seven or more years equipment finance experience with emphasis on asset management and equipment valuation.
  • Solid understanding of valuation methodologies and secondary market behavior for various asset classes.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Advanced written and analytical skills to encompass an ability to analyze
  • Experience across multiple lines of business including, but not limited to, transportation, construction, manufacturing, industrial and healthcare
  • Possess a profound understanding of valuation methodologies and secondary market behavior for various asset classes
  • PC proficiency with Windows programs including Word and Excel and other pertinent systems typical for asset management
  • Ability to research industry sources needed for equipment evaluations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to self-manage time and workflow to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.

Salary offered will be based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. This position is also eligible to participate in either an applicable incentive compensation plan for the position or a discretionary profit sharing bonus program.
