A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A RECREATION PROGRAM SITE COORDINATOR

As a Recreation Program Site Coordinator at our Kids Club YMCA locations, you are responsible for the daily supervision of the participants, ages 6-18, in the Kids Club programming in conjunction with the City of Erie Housing Authority. S/he is responsible for assisting in the planning, development, and implementation of all program components, program activities and events in the Kids Club. S/he guides academic and social development of participants; ensuring a safe, enriching and healthy environment.

You are friendly and patient as you serve as a role model and demonstrate professional behavior. With enthusiasm, you help deliver program curriculum and behavioral structure in helping with the needs of the participants. You are also conscientious about keeping records up to date and accurate and ensuring compliance with YMCA standards and government regulations.


QUALIFICATIONS FOR A RECREATION PROGRAM SITE COORDINATOR

  • Bachelor's Degree in the approved curriculum from an accredited college or university.
  • Excellent public relation skills in working with the community, parents, staff and children.
  • Act 33, 34, and FBI Clearances
  • May be required to have a valid PA Drivers License.
  • Must complete all Standard Recreation program requirements below.
    • Six clock hours of Approved Training annually
    • Annual training in First Aid, water safety, and fire safety
    • CPR Certification within 90 days
    • Responsible for the safety of the children
    • Understanding and implementation of emergency procedures as necessary
    • Act as a role model for the children at all times
    • Attendance at all staff meetings and in-service trainings
    • Assist as a mentor for new employees
    • Attendance at parent conferences and at parent/child events as requested
    • Supporting the program goals and the mission of the YMCA
