Key Responsibilities:

As a Staff Accountant at Medi-Weightloss, your role will be instrumental in ensuring the financial health and operational excellence of our clinics. You will:

  • Perform full-cycle accounting duties for multiple entities.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Review cash receipts and manage accounts receivable, including billing, collections, and reconciliation of customer accounts.
  • Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, prepaids, depreciation, and other adjustments as needed.
  • Reconcile bank statements and investigate any discrepancies or issues.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting process and provide support for financial forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Analyze financial data and trends to identify areas for improvement and support decision-making processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and support external auditors during annual audits.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
  • Must live in the Tampa Bay area.
  • 2 or more years of full-cycle accounting experience for multiple entities/locations required.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (i.e. QuickBooks, Sage, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • CPA certification (preferred but not required).
