How old do you need to be to work at ALDI?

You must be 18 to work at ALDI, no matter the state.

Does ALDI require a drug test?

Employment may be contingent upon ALDI’s receipt of an acceptable and job-related background check, drug test, motor vehicle report and/or reference check, as applicable and permissible by law.

How much do ALDI employees make?

Most part-time and hourly positions start at $12.00 per hour, dependent on the state. 

  • Part-time Store Associate: starting at $12.00-$14.50 per hour, dependent on state.

  • Full-time Store Associate: starting at $12.00 per hour.

  • Part-time Stocker: starting at $12.00 per hour.

What are the requirements to work at ALDI?

In general, candidates aren’t required to submit proof of a diploma, transcripts or GED when applying online. The only exception is for District Manager applicants, they’re required to submit an official college transcript. Overall, if chosen, candidates may be asked to provide copies of these documents during the interview process.

Job Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. 

  • Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred. 

  • A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge. 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities 

  • Provides prompt and courteous customer service. 

  • Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately. 

  • Ability to safely and properly operate equipment, including electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber and cardboard baler. 

  • Ability to perform general cleaning duties to company standards. 

  • Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Gives attention to detail and follows instructions. 

  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment. 

  • Ability to stay organized and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner. 

  • Meets any state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages. 

Physical Demands: 

  • Ability to stock merchandise from store receiving to shelving. 

  • Ability to place product, weighing up to 45 pounds, on shelving at various heights. 

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry and walk around the store.

  • ALDI does offer accommodations for candidates with disabilities. These accommodations include braille, printing and interpreting services.
