General Statement of Duties:
The assistant manager is responsible for directing personnel in maintaining all levels of the store operations to achieve sales and profitability objectives and the desired company goal of superior customer service. The assistant manager will achieve these goals through effective merchandising, inventory regulation, expense control, human resource management, managing operating costs and minimizing shrinkage.
Specific Duties:
Uphold accountability levels of all personnel to promote excellent customer service skills.
Promote sales growth with marketing and merchandising efforts.
Solicitation of new business.
Maintain all daily, weekly and monthly accounting and payroll functions as directed by the corporate office.
Monitor cash handling procedures to verify they are being followed by the delivery drivers and customer service representatives to ensure accurate reporting to the corporate office.
Manage and maintain accurate inventory counts by controlling the stocking, picking, ordering and receiving procedures are in compliance with corporate guidelines.
Remain current on all new products and demands for products from customers.
Ensure employee compliance of established operational procedures for maintaining safety and security practices.
Monitor and enforce loss prevention policies and procedures.
Communicate with the store manager and the corporate office to resolve any customer concerns or pressing problems in an objective and timely manner.
Cashier duties as needed to maintain our customer's expectation of prompt customer service.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 1 year of experience in sales, purchasing or marketing responsibilities, preferable in a consumer based products industry. Prior supervision experience is preferred.
This position requires excellent written and oral communication skills and requires a high level of interpersonal relationship skills with company personnel as well as customers. Must be able to accurately complete computer documentation and run a point of sale register.
This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time, climb ladders, bend, lift, move 50lbs of merchandise occasionally and frequently move 25lbs. Must be able to use a forklift and pallet jack.
