Caregiver – Special Care Assistant - Part-time

The Rogue Valley Manor, Medford’s premier retirement community is seeking special care assistants for our 25-bed residential care facility. Our special care department supports our family of residents to be as independent and successful as possible and helps those residents that are still mobile with memory impairing illnesses. We are fortunate to enjoy an outstanding staffing ratio and are able to maintain a very high standard of care for our residents.

This position requires exceptional teamwork with other staff members to ensure the physical, emotional and social needs of our residents are met. In a typical day, our special care caregivers assist residents with their activities of daily living such as dressing, personal hygiene and eating; taking residents for walks; visiting and laughing with residents; reassuring and comforting residents; and assisting residents to find meaningful and rewarding ways to spend their time.

Preferred candidates will be self-directed, patient, compassionate, observant, creative, flexible, intuitive and have great communication. Additional training within the department for personal exercise, activity and/or medication aide duties is available for the right person.
