We're part of a nationwide unique recycling retail store specializing in clothes for teens and twenty somethings — we buy and sell the latest looks in clothing and accessories from the hottest brand name designers for girls and guys.

Shift Supervisor

To help promote all aspects of the business including selling, pricing and merchandising the store. Opening/closing responsibilities. Promoting a high level of customer service by ensuring customers are assisted in an enthusiastic, timely, and knowledgeable manner.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers immediately, determine their needs, and handle all transactions in a professional and enthusiastic manner.
• Opening and/or closing responsibilities including but not limited to: responsibility for key, opening and closing the store on a timely basis and according to schedule, balancing, opening/closing the till and responsibility for deposits as needed.
• Become familiar with products, brands and prices and make recommendations of products, including their features and benefits, to suit customers’ needs. Maximize sales and customer satisfaction by adding items to the close of the sale.
• Buy used product, reinforcing the customer’s purchases and sales to the store. Invite customers to return to the store with their used gear for product trade or to sell.
• Price and ticket items appropriately based on pricing/buying guidelines. Restock store following merchandising plan. Maintain store displays and follow store housekeeping and maintenance standards and procedures.
• Develop proficiency in operating the point of sale system in the store for all sale transactions.
• Achieve personal and store goals by applying sound customer service and sales protocol.

Plato's Closet buys and sells gently used brand name clothes and accessories for teens and young adults. Plato's Closet in Dover, DE is looking for shift leaders with a sense of style. The right candidate will be available to work days/nights and weekends. You will be ringing sales, processing returns, answering phones, assisting customers, attending the fitting rooms, tagging, communicating the buy process to our customers and you will be trained to buy current styles in excellent condition for the store.  The right candidate will also be trained to become a shift leader. This position in addition to the above responsibilities, will also require you to provide associate training and coaching, opening and closing the store,  bank runs, deposits, maintaining store cleanliness, responsible for visual merchandising, and maintaining proper inventory levels.

The right person will work closely with the store manager, the assistant manager(s) and owners.

 You must meet the following criteria:

1.  Great customer service and communication skills
2. Must have great work ethics
3. High school diploma
4. Basic math skills
5. Ability to handle customers with sensitivity
6. Ability to work at a fast pace with accuracy
7. Ability to work independently
8. Must have flexibility with work schedules, holidays and weekends are a must.
9. Must be able to effectively communicate the Buy Policy to our customers
10. Must have a desire to learn about fashion and possess a sense of current styles
11. Must have the ability to lead a staff of 10 or more associates
12. Required to lift up to 50lbs.
