Front Desk Clerk (Part-Time) - Candlewood Suites Bluffton - Hilton Head

The Front Desk Clerk is a member of the Front Office team. S/he are responsible for: maintaining and promoting hospitality at all times; welcoming and serving guests in a courteous, efficient and friendly manner, both face-to-face and on the phone. As part of this job, this individual is required to: demonstrate good computer skills; accurately handle cash and charges; stand for long periods of time; present a friendly, outgoing, energetic and guest service oriented demeanor.

This position requires a Pre-Hire Assessment as part of the application process. This is a PART-TIME front desk position which will typically consist of 1 to 3 eight hour shifts per week (8-24 hours per week), with the possibility of gaining occasional additional shifts, as is needed. Shifts will be between 7am-3pm or 3pm-11pm. We are primarily looking to fill shifts on Mondays and Tuesdays, but also possibly some weekends or other days depending on scheduling needs.


Candidates should be customer service oriented and dedicated to providing consistently top-notch service to our guests by making them feel welcome and appreciated during all aspects of their experience with our hotel. This will include (but is not limited to): providing friendly and knowledgeable service while taking guest reservations via telephone or in person, efficiently checking guests into the hotel upon arrival, greeting guests and/or offering assistance when they come through the lobby, and ensuring their stay was pleasant and their bill was accurate upon their departure. Such consistency in providing excellent service is key to being a successful part of our team.


Candidates must be flexible and able to work on short notice to fill-in, should another team member become unable to work their scheduled shift or has requested days off. Candidates must be dependable and have access to adequate transportation. It would be extremely beneficial for a candidate to be computer literate and/or to have hotel/hospitality experience, although this is not absolutely necessary. Previous Opera PMS experience is preferred, but is not absolutely necessary.
