Summary of Role:

The Manager, Content will oversee TWC SportsChannel ' s studio and original programming and will be responsible for the planning and executing of content creation for the channel. This position will be the principal leader for our daily and weekly shows and productions and will lead a team of geographically dispersed content creators. The position will develop a content mission statement that defines what TWC SportsChannel will deliver in terms of programming and measure against it regularly. The position will also help create standards and efficiencies, promote collaboration between all parties and develop protocols to meet editorial goals for the network. Oversee the production of final reports and making decisions related to sports content, including reviewing the work of others. Must be willing to work flexible schedule including Saturdays, Sundays, nights and weekends; Will help identify additional production team members

Essential Job Functions:

- Maintain the integrity of the sports news gathering and editorial process.

- Responsible for the style, content and overall presentation of studio and original programming on TWC SportsChannel.

- Lead daily and weekly content planning meetings and manage annual program portfolio.

- Work with Director and other TWC Sports leadership to craft look and feel of broadcasts.

- Manage and develop content plan for shows and oversee content creation team including, but not limited to, Sr Producer, Producer, On-air Talent, and Editing functions

- Audit shows in terms of editorial/content mission and develop a plan that will put each show in adherence with the mission. Responsible for accuracy of facts in the on-air product.

- Standardizes and creates efficiencies for all programming by working with Sr. Producer to develop consistent coverage, feature stories/programs and opinion shows. Also develops consistencies in maintaining budgets for all the programs.

- Develop and maintain monthly and annual budgets.

- Provide feedback and coaching to employees to help improve employee performance

- Address and resolve employee concerns and grievances.

- Exceptional knowledge of Sports Market - High School, College and Professional

- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that works well with co-workers, supervisors and customers, consistent with the company ' s workplace culture.

Position Requirements: Knowledge & Experience (Technical Responsibilities)

- Able to perform well under pressure, manage breaking news situations, meet strict deadlines, and respond quickly to changes.

- Proven track record of editing and writing stories from information collected by reporters and other

- Proven track record of coordinating the activities of writers, show directors, managers, and other personnel throughout the production process.

- Proven track record with research production topics using the internet, video archives, and other informational sources.

- Review recordings to ensure conformance to production and broadcast standards.

- Monitor post-production processes to ensure accurate completion of details.

- Conduct meetings with staff to discuss production progress and to ensure production objectives are attained.

- Perform administrative duties, such as preparing operational reports, distributing rehearsal call sheets and script copies, and arranging for rehearsal quarters.

- Resolve personnel problems that arise during the production process by acting as liaison between dissenting parties when necessary.

- Must have strong knowledge and understanding of the High School, College and Professional sports.

- Television sports/news producing experience required.

- Thorough knowledge of operation and office policies and procedures. Must have ability to handle various tasks simultaneously, organize, prioritize, make decisions and work efficiently and effectively under deadlines.

Formal Education & Certification:

- Bachelor ' s degree in communications, journalism, or related field, or equivalent work experience is a plus but priority will be given to experience.

- 10+ years television sports/news production experience.

- Experience with non-linear editing required.

- Experience with Dalet newsroom systems preferred.

Travel Requirements:

- Travel depending upon project need.

- Sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time.

- Long days may be required to meet deadlines.

- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components.

- On-call availability for 24x7, 365 days per year.
