Independently manage facility based chemical dependency and psychiatric treatment of members through telephonic utilization management. Review cases, monitor and certify appropriate levels of care according to policy. Collaborate with facility on development and ensure implementation of short term recovery plan. Escalate appropriate cases to relevant Peer Reviewers.


 


Responsibilities:



  •  Review clinical assessments and certify levels of care according to policy and regulations

  • Ensure development and adherence to short term recovery plan

  • Effectively formulate, document and present cases as needed

  • Meet all documentation audit standards

  • Review case with supervisor or peer reviewer as needed and appropriately refer to MD for consultation Demonstrate knowledge of, and competently apply Optum Health Behavioral Solutions policies and procedures, regulatory standards

  • Enter accurate authorizations or notifications

  • Effectively collaborate with other departments to meet consumer needs

  • Participate in staff meetings, case conferences, and in-service opportunities

  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors

Requirements

Requirements:


  • Must be an independently licensed master's level mental health professional, licensed Ph.D. or registered nurse

  • Must have a current, unrestricted license in the state of FL or the ability to obtain upon employment

  • 2+years of direct clinical experience with acute and community based psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment in various settings

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn and navigate multiple proprietary software applications

  • Typing proficiency

  • Strong verbal and written communication and collaborative skills

  • Effective organization and time management skills

  • Ability to effectively adapt to a changing environment

Additional Assets:


  • Familiarity with recovery and resiliency model

  • Demonstrated familiarity and experience with DSM IV-TR and best practice standards for treatment

  • Managed care or utilization review experience

  • Experience with FL Medicaid population
