Manager, Web Development (Java Stack exp required) - OptumInsight - Franklin, TN, Salt Lake City, UT, Raleigh, NC

Lead the evolution of our web development framework to the latest technologies for desktop and mobile applications. This framework is already used by many of our applications and the list is growing because it provides a strong foundation of quality, security, user experience, and ease of use for our revolutionary and top-quality health care applications – allowing teams to get their products to the market faster. Our goal is to evolve the framework to increase its value and stay ahead of demand.

Responsibilities include:

- Manage team of onshore and offshore software engineers, emphasizing top-notch development practices

- Partner with development teams, quality assurance teams, designers, and program managers to ensure we deliver the most valuable products we can

- Manage towards results using fact-based processes while always striving to improve those processes in an agile environment

- Mentor and coach team members to ensure short-term tasks are successful while continually developing their skills

- Ensure development projects support company goals and align with SDLC process

- Own and manage development environments

Key attributes include:

-  Understanding of how agile works within overall software lifecycle process

-  Solid understanding of software development best practices

-  History of successfully setting and meeting expectations

-  Ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced environment

-  Excellent communication and presentation skills

-  CS or MIS undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
-  5+ years enterprise software development experience with Java
-  3+ years developing with web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and web services
-  3+ years working with application servers, such as TomCat
-  2+ years development lead or manager experience; developing skills and evaluating team members
-  2+ years unit testing with tools like JUnit and JMocks
-  1+ year working with JSF 2.x and associated component packages (RichFaces, PrimeFaces, etc.)
-  1+ years of working in an agile environment
-  Leading decentralized teams, including offshore team members

Asset:
-  Experience developing common software components for enterprise environment
-  Experience developing applications with Spring and Hibernate
-  Experience developing mobile applications
-  Healthcare experience
