This is an exciting time to be part OptumInsight's high growth CAC Software Engineering team in sunny San Diego! As the SQL Server Database/Developer you will provide database administration for mission-critical custom and packaged software applications. Job responsibilities include:
- Develop complex stored procedures, views and functions on MS SQL Server (2008 and 2012), utilizing strong TSQL experience
- Create queries, index, statistics, execution plans and DB I/O performance tuning
- Identify weaknesses in T-SQL Code and then improving those weaknesses for future releases
- Utilize Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) to create and run SSIS packages and in generating models for reports with SSRS.
- Utilize software development principles and experience developing within the full life-cycle of a software product
- Analyze data requirements for business applications, develop data models and planning data migration/conversion strategies for internal and externally hosted applications.
- Uphold enterprise policy guidelines and recommend new/improved guidelines
- Partner with project teams and interact with customers to find solutions for projects and operational issues for existing and proposed databases
- Demonstrate the knowledge and ability to perform in all of the basic database management skills of database administration, physical structure, overall architecture, and database analysis
- Provide standardization and consistency across environments
- Apply database management consulting skills and gathers user requirements
- Implement and monitor database functionality to ensure stable environments
- Identify and initiate resolutions to user problems and concerns associated with database server equipment (hardware and software)

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years SQL Server database experience
- 3+ Data Modeling (Physical/Logical) experience
- 3+ years of T-SQL stored procedures development experience.
- SSIS and SSRS experience
Additional Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree
- Experience with Data Warehouses and/or Data Marts
- Database Administration experience
- SQL certification
- C# experience
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)
- Intermediate proficiency with MS Visio
- Lead experience
- Healthcare Industry experience
