This is an exciting time to be part OptumInsight's high growth CAC Software Engineering team in sunny San Diego!  As the SQL Server Database/Developer you will provide database administration for mission-critical custom and packaged software applications.  To learn more about technology careers with UnitedHealth Group,

 

Job responsibilities include:


  • Develop complex stored procedures, views and functions on MS SQL Server (2008 and 2012), utilizing strong TSQL experience

  • Create queries, index, statistics, execution plans and DB I/O performance tuning

  • Identify weaknesses in T-SQL Code and then improving those weaknesses for future releases

  • Utilize Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) to create and run SSIS packages and in generating models for reports with SSRS.

  • Utilize software development principles and experience developing within the full life-cycle of a software product

  • Analyze data requirements for business applications, develop data models and planning data migration/conversion strategies for internal and externally hosted applications.

  • Uphold enterprise policy guidelines and recommend new/improved guidelines

  • Partner with project teams and interact with customers to find solutions for projects and operational issues for existing and proposed databases

  • Demonstrate the knowledge and ability to perform in all of the basic database management skills of database administration, physical structure, overall architecture, and database analysis

  • Provide standardization and consistency across environments

  • Apply database management consulting skills and gathers user requirements

  • Implement and monitor database functionality to ensure stable environments

  • Identify and initiate resolutions to user problems and concerns associated with database server equipment (hardware and software)

Requirements

Required Qualifications:


  • 5+ years SQL Server database experience

  • 3+ Data Modeling (Physical/Logical) experience

  • 3+ years of T-SQL stored procedures development experience.

  • SSIS and SSRS experience

Additional Desired Qualifications:


  • Bachelors degree

  • Experience with Data Warehouses and/or Data Marts

  • Database Administration experience

  • SQL certification

  • C# experience

  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)

  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Visio

  • Lead experience

  • Healthcare Industry experience
