Occupational Therapist

SPECIALIZED OUTPATIENT JOB DESCRIPTION OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY JOB SUMMARY The Occupational Therapist is expected to review all referrals received requesting an occupational therapy assessment, respond to each appropriately, and if appropriate for an OT assessment conduct a comprehensive assessment within the required time frame and, if the conclusion of the assessment justified an Occupational Therapy Treatment Plan as medically necessary, complete and implement the plan. JOB REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION *Have successfully completed and graduated from an accredited occupational therapy professional program recognized by the Michigan Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy and have completed all fieldwork requirements. *A minimum of one (1) year experience working with the mentally ill and developmentally disabled populations preferred. EXPERIENCE *Experience and knowledge of occupational performance deficits in areas of personal care, interaction skills, process skills, range of motion and sensory integration. *Experience working with diverse populations, especially individuals who are low-income, homeless and involved in other community services LICENSES and CERTIFICATIONS *Current license by the Michigan Board of Occupational Therapy *Registration by the National Board Certification of Occupational Therapy PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS *Ability to work in office and community settings in Jackson and Hillsdale Counties *Ability to travel to community locations and other offices
