Exclusive Order to AMN. Established in 1976 in Terra Linda, San Rafael Medical center has steadily grown to serve over 100,000 members, spanning an area stretching from the beautiful Golden Gate Bridge to the quaint town of Petaluma. Over 200 physicians and nurse practitioners representing every primary care area and every major subspecialty provide a full range of services to members. ICU unit seeks RN with a minimum 2 years ICU experience, recent travel experience, BLS, ACLS, Telemetry, Vent Management, NIHSS. Must float to: 3W- Cardiac/Sroke unit (1:4 ratio), Med/Surg (1:5 ratio). This RN will float to cover procedure room needs located within the ICU department.

Avg Daily census: 8
Population:Cardiac, respiratory, trauma, surgery, shock
Ratio: 1:2
MEDS: All usual ICU drugs
Type of Procedures: Intubation, thoracentesis, cardiocentesis, PA lines, chest tubes, IABP. GI endoscopy suite in unit. Dedicated procedure RNs.
Special Equipment: Phillips IntelliVue monitoring system, Purritan-Bennet 840 ventilators, Datascope IABP
Critical care nurses (CCU RNs) assist in the treatment of acutely ill patients with life-threatening conditions, in settings requiring continuous vigilance, complex assessment, and high-intensity therapies and interventions. Working with the patients and their families, ICU RNs strive to create healing, humane and caring environments while also focusing on patient advocacy, working in settings such as intensive care units and cardiac care units, where patients require complex assessment, high-intensity therapies and interventions, and continuous nursing vigilance.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years ICU experience
BLS, ACLS, Telemetry, Vent Management, NIHSS
Must FLOAT TO: 3W- Cardiac/Sroke unit (1:4 ratio), Med/Surg (1:5 ratio)
This RN will float to cover procedure room needs located within the ICU department.
Preferred Qualifications
Health Connect trained individuals
Competent in care of adult/teen ICU patients. Punctuality/attendance, communication, team work. Sense of humor a plus!
