POSITION SUMMARY
The Engineering Manager is responsible for provision of information, tools, and training needed by programmers, Industrial Engineers, and Manufacturing Engineers. The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading continuous improvement opportunities for both manual and CNC machining.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ DUTIES
Create standardized work where no other formal process is in place
Maintain labor routings as required
Drive accurate run labor and set-up standards through time-study maintenance of routings
Work to optimize current and future CNC programs, including increasing feeds/speeds, reducing machining quality risks, and communicating necessary standard work information to machinists. Lead the development of CNC programs on multi-axis machines
Assign/schedule programming needs as necessary
Schedule necessary training for Manufacturing Engineering team
Utilization of CAM software for generation and revision of CNC programs
Fully support and participate in OpEx efforts and scheduled kaizens Utilization of verification capabilities of CAM software and/or separate verification software to ensure that CNC programs conform to customer drawings
Revision of programs for ease of manufacturing purposes as sensibly requested by the shop floor
Work with tooling suppliers to stay on the cutting edge of process and efficiency. Develop tool test programs and implementation plans for new tooling
Be the primary problem solver in the facility and drive that level of interaction with your staff
Willingness to work overtime, holidays, weekends as required

Education
Bachelor degree In Engineering or appropriate Certification
Software-specific CAD/CAM training or equivalent experience
Experience
Minimum 10 years machining/machining leadership experience or equivalent Mfg Engineering experience
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Computer Skills
Developed computer skills pertaining to CAD/CAM software and other software utilized in the programming environment
Working knowledge of or desire to learn Excel, Word and Power Point

- Understand Engineering economy and work measurement
- Develop ability to utilize software- and web-based scheduling tools as necessary to facilitate the creation and management of routings and machine programming
- Developed proficiency with CAM software, verification software, program editors, and other software as necessary
- Possess math skills as necessary to perform essential duties
- Ability to lead and motivate team and other plant team members.
- Strong Communication Skills both written and verbal
- Knowledge of machining principles is a requirement
- Understand business and system processes, including ERP processes.
Education
