Pediatric Progressive Care / Stepdown Nurse - (Peds PCU RN - Pedi PCU RN)
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 12 N Pay Rate: $30.50 *
As an addition to this elite team, you can expect to work with fully equipped with up-to-date, state of the art equipment. This is a highly regarded teaching and Magnet facility that welcomes creative and innovative care givers.
The pediatric progressive care nurse (peds PCU RN) is responsible for the care of pediatric patients (generally aged from 30 days to 18 years) who are not critically ill enough for admittance to the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), but whose conditions still require continuous observation and monitoring. Also called the pediatric stepdown nurse, the pedi PCU RN takes the lead in administering care, giving particular emphasis to cardiovascular, endocrine, neurological, renal, and surgical disorders. Pediatric PCU nurses also educate patients’ families on how to provide home care post-discharge.
Required Qualifications
Credentials required: BCLS, PALS, Pedi exp.
PBDS Given on the first day--pass/fail
