Job Title: CNC Tooling Technician
Reports To: Engineering Manager/Tool Design Engineer
Direct Reports: None
Job Summary:
This position will be responsible for many facets of the tooling department. This includes repairing existing tools and assembly fixtures, fabricating new tools, and trouble-shooting fabrication difficulties associated with those tools. The processes associated with this position include hand fabrication of fiberglass laminates, operation of traditional machine shop tools such as lathes and saws, and operation of CNC equipment. A successful candidate will be a self motivated person with an ability to develop innovative and creative solutions and designs. A strong work ethic and willingness to learn is important.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
-Repair Existing Tools which include form dies used to press metal foil parts, assembly fixtures, and aluminum dies
-Fabricate new tools using existing equipment and processes as well as novel approaches
-Recommend and implement ideas to improve our capabilities and competencies within the tooling shop
-Recommend and implement ideas to improve the production processes on the shop floor, as they relate to tools
-Support Production in the fabrication of support parts/components used in the manufacture of products
-Assist Engineering on new program development efforts including manufacturing prototypes, establishing production processes and offering input on design to improve parts or processes
-Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned based on production demands

- Familiarity and general knowledge of patterning and tooling
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret drawings/blueprints
- Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
- Willingness to take direction and offer new ideas
- Good interpersonal skills to interface with Engineering, Management, and shop floor personnel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
