We have an immediate opening for a Kitchen Banquet Supervisor .

Must be able to work various shifts per week.

  • Be authorized to work in the United States.

Requirements

GENERAL PURPOSE
Assist cooks in the preparation of all items, line setup and inspection, pre-shift meetings and checkingout of all employees.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Responsible for supervision of line cooks and all kitchen staff.
  • Seafood ordering and butchering of all meats.
  • Develop new menu ideas and specials.
  • Conducts pre-shift meeting and post-shift checking out for all cooks.

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

  • Perform duties of Chef de Cuisine in his/her absence.
  • Assist in different stations of kitchen as needed.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
  • Assist with supervision of stewards.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY

The individual must posses the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that the or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.

  • Must have advance knowledge of the fundamentals of cooking.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of accepted standards and sanitation.
  • Must have knowledge of operating all kitchen equipment, i.e., stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, kettles, etc.
  • Basic mathematical skills necessary to understand recipes, measurements, and portion sizes.
  • Ability to read and write the English language in order to read recipes and communicate with other employees.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity of hand in order to use all kitchen equipment, i.e., knives, spoons, spatulas, tong, slicers, etc.
  • Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move (rotate) goods weighing a maximum of 100 lbs. on a continuous schedule.
  • Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.

EDUCATION: High school graduate, Culinary degree preferred

EXPERIENCE: Advanced cooking knowledge and 4 years experience preferred. fine dining experience preferred.
