About this job
Duties will include the following:
- Will work off a work order system to receive and complete projects/tasks including preventative maintenance and repairs of HVAC-R equipment around the campus.
- Manage materials, parts, equipment needed for PM program. This will include inventory tracking, record keeping, product research and supply procurement.
- Perform repairs/replacement of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration components to include HVAC-R controls, domestic and radiant heat hot-water systems and commercial grade kitchen appliances.
- Documenting work performed including time and materials expended.
- Performing a variety of mechanical work on HVAC-R equipment such as troubleshooting/fixing/installing auxiliary components to heating-cooling equipment (expansion & discharge valves, air ducts, pipes, blowers, dampers, flues and stokers); testing pipe and tubing joints/connections for leaks using gauges or soap/water solution.
- Electrical work such as connecting wiring between controls and equipment according to wiring diagrams, testing electrical circuits and components for continuity.
- Ability to understand schematics, wiring diagrams, plans, design specs and manufacturers' instructions.
- Must be proficient in using tools of the trade to include oxygen/acetylene torches (soft solder torch), Freon recovery machines, vacuum pumps, electrical meters, pressure gauges, hand power tools, sheet metal tools, hoists, chain fall rigging, power washers and more.
- Strong English (verbal and written) REQUIRED - communication and interpersonal skills are important as well as an attitude dedicated to customer service.
- Must be able to lift upwards of 75 pounds.
- Keeping work trucks and areas/tools clean and neat
