Our client, a Fortune 100 leader in the chemical industry is currently searching for a new Buyer to join their team. This is a permanent role within the team reporting directly to the Category Manager. The position offers competitive pay and full benefits including 401k and PTO.
Position Summary:
The position lies within the global Procurement organization, reporting to the Raw Materials Cluster Manager. This position supports Category Leaders in the management of third party supply agreements and the associated external (supplier) relationships. Frequent internal interaction with Supply (MFT, GSP, Manufacturing, GSC) is also essential. The role is key to ensuring uninterrupted supply of raw materials under the best possible commercial conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
-Support the sourcing strategy implementation for high spend/global materials via gathering of local market intelligence, planning support, operating day to day relationships with key suppliers and maintaining focus through various activities as agreed with the Category Leaders
-Manage a selection of low-spend, locally-sourced materials including understanding the marketplace drivers, leveraging and positioning the company in sourcing, negotiating and contract administration to achieve best available market pricing
- Timely, accurate set up of suppliers, materials and contracts in SAP and SharePoint to ensure smooth Purchase to Pay operations
- Establish relationships with internal clients, communicating effectively to ensure alignment of objectives
