Purchasing Manager:
Our client, a reputable manufacturing company is seeking a Purchasing Manager for their location near Melville, NY. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within a manufacturing/packaging environment.
Main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
? Sourcing and bidding for materials, supplies, service equipment and furniture
? Negotiate contracts with vendors according to purchasing guidelines
? Research and prepare proposals as needed
? Manage recycling programs
? Control work orders for a ll materials out for repair
? Negotiate logistics carriers for freight charges
? Administrate returns, credit or exchange of material
? Assist manufacturing, operations and other departments with procedures and projects
? Source subcontractors
? Solve invoice discrepancies with accounts payable
? Price grids for annual and semi-annual contracts
? Set up and qualify new vendors with the appropriate paperwork, i.e. W-9, References, and insurance certificates
Requirements:
Solid background in manufacturing environment
Previous experience working as a Purchasing Manager or Purchasing Agent for at least seven years
Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
Must have a strong proficiency with MS Excel
Experience with MAS200 a PLUS
This is a Monday – Friday full time opportunity. Temp-to-Hire or Direct Hire
Salary is $65-70K contingent upon experience
