Basic Purpose: This position is responsible for all payroll functions including the maintenance of personnel files and adherence to all policies and procedures. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Maintain computerized payroll program ensuring accurate and timely data entry. • Human resources assistance and employee file maintenance. • Maintain all required company, state, and federal posters. • Prepare for annual payroll and H.R. corporate audits. • Complete new hire and termination paperwork. • Maintain employee records on ServiceMaster Career Profile Website. • Maintain online Affirmative Action log. • Utilize E-Verify for new hires and maintain I-9 files. • Update and maintain vacation tracking log. • Calculate time cards weekly for hourly employees. • Input payroll time into J.D. Edwards for three branches and reconcile payroll reports. • Maintain the weekly labor detail and trend reports for forecasting. • Handle all Nextel requests, maintain radio directory, and reconcile monthly invoice to ensure accuracy. • Order and maintain office supplies. • Special projects and other duties, as needed. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associates degree (AA); or one to two year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: As required by federal and state law.
