NIGHT MANAGER

Position Summary:

Responsible for overseeing the evening operations and guest concerns/issues of the hotel between the approximate hours of 2:00 pm and 11:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Essential Functions:

1. Work closely with the General Manager and Assistant General Manager in managing the hotel operations during the evening.
2. Make sure all department’s shifts are covered as scheduled. Ensure departmental supervisor is adjusting accordingly.
3. Assist the General Manager and Assistant General Manager in resolving guest concerns and complaints concerning the hotel.
4. Establish effective communication and information system through e-mails, logs, department meetings and with department heads.
5. Work closely with housekeeping, engineering, catering and sales to assure groups, guests and special functions are handled smoothly.
6. Ensure guest special requests are fulfilled.
7. Provide assistance in the lobby during heavy check-ins with guest questions and assistance.
8. Knowledgeable of Fire and Emergency procedures. Understand and react to any emergency situations, notifying guests accordingly. Notify General Manager and Assistant General Manager when appropriate.
9. Assist departments in their times of need.
10. Thoroughly understand the hotel’s service culture. Ensure that all employees understand this philosophy.
11. Attend weekly sales and staff meetings, to stay abreast of current events.
12. Attend manager training/seminars when scheduled.
13. Responsible for responding to any Guest Relations or IHG Social Listening cases that arise.
14. Adhere to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the hotel, including, but not limited to, those contained in the employee handbook.



Education and Experience:

- Must have supervisory/management experience.
- Must have hotel experience.

- Strong customer service orientation and skills.
- Superior interpersonal skills. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful and flexible.
- Ability to handle any emergency.
- Excellent listening skills
- Ability to maintain a calm demeanor in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to maintain control and composure in difficult situations and exhibit good judgment.
- Front desk experience beneficial.
