Merchandise Team Leaders are responsible for setting the overall look of the store. They are tasked with building displays and end caps to make the merchandise look its best to the customer. Merchandise Team Leaders will need to have previous retail merchandising experience. They will train other team members who are just starting in their retail career how to make a quality display. MTLs will work closely with the store managers to maintain the store’s appearance. There is a clear career path from Merchandise Team Leader to Senior Merchandise Team Leader to salaried management at Old Time Pottery.

The general requirements start with being able to work with all manner of people. Being able to communicate effectively with customers as well as other team members is a must. You will need to have basic math skills. Prior retail supervisory experience is preferred. Candidates will need to have excellent organizational skills and work under multiple deadlines.
