ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
The basic function of the Shipping Supervisor position is to oversee the work of the associates responsible for receiving, pulling and preparing product for deliveries and transfers.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties and responsibilities are essential in the daily execution of the position:
•Provide leadership and dependability as well as coordinates all duties of the shift associates.
•Review all procedures involved with the loading, unloading, check-in, scanning and product movement process.
•Demonstrate knowledge of security procedures to ensure controlled inventory processes.
•Correct product handling issues along with maintaining a safe work environment.
•Oversee all processes of the delivery prep and shipping to ensure accuracy of paperwork and inventory; make sure all inventory is accurately placed at appropriate locations
•Change tickets in POS system and report to stores any alterations to delivery tickets.
•Monitor and track the productivity levels of all shift associates.
•Responsible for proper staffing levels.
•Manage employee Attendance/Occurrence records.
•Support the ongoing development of associates
CORE COMPETENCIES:
•Excellent two way communications skills
•Ability to plan effectively
•Proven leadership skills including ability to direct work of others
•Excellent Customer Service and Communication Skills.
•Solid computer skills and use of Microsoft Excel and Word.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
•Proven leadership skills including ability to direct work of others
•High school education (or equivalent)
•5 plus years of experience in related field
•Ability to plan effectively
•Excellent communications skills
•Prior management or supervisory experience required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Job Classification: Light
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and /or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time)to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work.
Minimal – climbing, crawling, eye/hand/foot coordination
Occasional – sitting, handling, grasping, repetitive motions
Frequent – frequent, kneeling, crouching, reaching
Constant – standing, walking, talking, hearing
