We have a full-time/part-time opening for a General Manager.

Must be able to work various shifts per week.

Requirements

*Principle Accountabilities:*

  • Under limited supervision, is responsible for the supervision, management, and operation of the day-to-day business function of the hockey club.
  • Promotes the facilities uses through an aggressive marketing and sales program; and to do related work as required.
  • Directs the hockey club personnel, billing, supervisory duties, customer relations, training, and purchasing.
  • Duties include providing leadership and direction to subordinates, management, and staff: the coordination and execution of plans and directives; the performance of continuing liaison with facility staff, ECHL, communication mediums, and the general public.
  • Ability to maximize advertising budgets through strategic review and creative partnerships with local media outlets.
  • Develop objectives related to the use of the facility as well as revenue generated and develop practical and relevant short-term plans to accomplish these objectives – assure the implementation of these plans.
  • Assure the fiscal soundness of the hockey club department by developing, justifying, and motivating subordinates – keep department staff informed of plans, policies and procedures which affect their job performance.

*Essential Job Results:*

*May include but are not limited to:*

1. Attend internal meetings and represents the complex at external meetings as deemed necessary.

2. Prepare and make public presentations as deemed necessary by the VP of Food and Entertainment.

3. Coordinate the sale of all advertising inventory in the complex as well as corporate sponsorships in support of all events.

4. Plan, organize, and direct various activities of the hockey club, in accordance with the VP of Food and Entertainment.

5. Perform various supervisory duties such as instructing, assigning, reviewing, and planning work for others, acting on employee problems, allocating personnel, maintaining standards, and coordinating activities.

6. Coordinate corporate sponsorships in support of all events.

7. Maximize community awareness through networking, communicating, promotional events, community involvement, etc.

8. Determine and establish personnel staffing requirements; impose and direct the structure for effective and efficient utilization of personnel.

9. Direct the development and sustain plans and programs, policies and procedures to cause the highest level of employee morale, safety and service, appearance and performance.

10. Achieve productive output levels from department staff – assure the work produced meets acceptable standards of quality, including deadlines of completion and annual objectives.

11. Assist and coordinate for the development of schedule dates: projections for attendance and revenue.

12. Assure the coordination, implementation and administrative of specific plans and programs prescribed by corporate directives, to include: matters of training and development; quality assurance; community contributions; employee suggestions; committee assignments.

13. Develop Hockey Club Strategic Plan with specific Action Plan.

*Work Environment*

  • Long periods of standing, up to 8 hours per day
  • Able to lift 40 pounds on a regular basis
  • Ability to work evenings, holidays and weekends
  • Ability to stoop and bend

*Experience*

  • Four-year degree from an accredited university
  • Three years of responsible experience in a special events facility or with a sports organization
  • Demonstrated ability to develop corporate sponsorships for events, marketing efforts or related activities
  • Combined education/experience may be evaluated to meet minimum requirements
  • Computer knowledge, including Microsoft Programs, internet, and database programs.
