Job Description: Quality Lean Six Sigma Belt

The Quality Lean Six Sigma Belt shall provide support in areas of Six Sigma, Lean and continuous improvement. This is an opportunity for an individual with a Quality, Lean, Six Sigma or Industrial Engineering background to obtain hands on experience in process improvement. Activities to include but not be limited to participation in and leading of teams involved in continual improvement of methods and processes using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to decrease process time, meet customer expectations and increase accuracy while reducing costs in accordance with both company and external policies and procedures.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work across all departments of the organization.
  • Update policies, spread sheets, procedures, forms and process flows in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Viso based on projects
  • Must be capable of working with minimal supervision to efficiently complete assignments and daily tasks
  • Identifies barriers to project success and solicits help when needed.
  • Utilize valid data collection schemes for each specific situation and collect data accordingly
  • A strong interest in process and quality improvement
  • Work with Finance and other members of the organization in properly valuing, tracking and reporting the financial benefit of Six Sigma projects to deliver anticipated and committed results/paybacks and ensures controls are in place to sustain results
  • Provides timely, accurate and meaningful information to manager on project status, updates, feedback and appropriate reporting on selected projects through the project tracking system and project reviews




ADDITIONAL AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Students working on a BS Degree or newly graduated student with a background in Industrial Engineering, Quality, Six Sigma, Lean or continuous improvement
  • Excellent computer skills. Must be skilled in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel. PowerPoint and Viso - experience with MS Access DB, Team Space, Share Point, Lotus Notes or Minitab applications is a plus
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise influence without authority
  • Demonstrates initiative, the desire to drive change and is motivated to exceed expectations
  • Communicates effectively at all levels
  • Must be a team leader and take charge attitude
  • Excellent writing and verbal skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, open minded, ability to adapt to new ideas, flexible, and self-driven
