VMWare Engineer - Secret clearance Job - Full-time / Part-time

VMWare Engiener needed for a contract to hire opportunity with Yoh's client located in Arlington, Virginia.

What You'll Be Doing:

- Manage vSphere 4.1 & 5.0 virtualization team that supports ITA-CASD
- Manage support and escalation for ITA CASD, server infrastructure in a 24 x 7 operational environment. Ensure staff is providing superior levels of service by managing adherence to SLAs in response to incidents and service requests.
- Provide oversight and management of the following hardware support activities including but not limited to:
* Patching of VMWare ESXi servers
* Remediate Image templates for 3rd party updates (McAfee, HBSS, Tivoli Monitoring Tools, etc) IBM E & H chassis, HP c7000 chassis, and Dell M1000e chassis Management
* Installation/configuration of Firmware upgrades
* Coordinate with vendors to troubleshoot various hardware issues
* Perform all O & M on IBM/HP/Dell chassis within the Pentagon (NCR)
* Manage HP LeftHand , and Dell EqualLogic storage devices on SIPR & NIPR classifications until transferred
* Transition servers storage from ISCSI to SAN (Fiber Channel) storage
* Perform periodic analysis of storage within the architecture on both NIPR & SIPR classifications for the Pentagon and Alternate Site

What You Need to Bring to the Table:

- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
- Eight to ten (8-10) years of related systems engineering experience.
- Understanding of the following technologies: Active Directory, Windows, Linux, NAS devices, SANs, VMware
- Possess excellent organizational, oral & written communication, and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of the following technologies: Active Directory, Windows, Linux, NAS devices, SANs, VMware, VMware Horizon View, Thin App, vCenter, XenCenter and Nutanix
- Familiarity with ITIL concepts; ITIL Foundation certification preferred.
- Ability to multi-task and to prioritize is essential
- Ability to manage an operational team on-call schedule and measure performance against established SLA's and OLA's.
- Knowledge of and familiarity with current and emerging technologies;
- Self-motivation and ability to thrive in fast-paced organization, outstanding multi-tasking and organization skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills, solid technical experience in the areas of network, application servers, e-mail, local and wide area networking, security and communications technology, backup and disaster recovery
- Experience planning & executing enterprise-wide infrastructure initiatives
- Experience with installing, configuring, troubleshooting and supporting the following technologies; VMWare, Citrix XenApp, NetApp
- Knowledge of networks and their operation including IP Addressing, VLANs, TCP / IP and data cabling, switch and router configuration etc.
- Ability to work in a high pressure environment and be able to appropriately prioritize conflicting demands
- Excellent time-management and personal organizational skills, coupled with good interpersonal skills.
- Must meet DOD 8570 IAT II requirements to include Security Plus CE enrollment and Computing Environment Certification
- Must serve in On Call capacity; and function as Manager on Call for approximately 2 30 day periods over the year
