Gateway Home and Garden Center, LLC is a family owned & operated wholesale and distribution nursery in Warrenton, VA. Gateway Home & Garden, LLC is committed to providing our customers with the best products and service possible. As we continue to grow, we are seeking friendly, outgoing, part and full-time sales staff to join the Gateway team at our retail garden center. This is a great opportunity to join our team with great work environment and friendly staff.
This position is an integral part of the Gateway team and plays a vital role in the success of our business. You will be required to interact with our retail, wholesale and commercial accounts by providing them with superior customer service. Applicants must be available to work most weekends during our busy season which is from April - October. This is an hourly, full-time position. We offer a benefits package which includes Health Insurance, Paid Leave, 401K and Profit Sharing.
This position requires an applicant who is versatile, capable of performing tasks associated with equipment operations, as well as labor tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Must be capable of operating equipment to include but not limited to forklifts, skid steers, and rubber tire wheel loaders.
* Well versed in equipment operation and capable of performing required maintenance on equipment to include but not limited to lubricating, fueling and cleaning.
* Inspect and complete equipment report daily
* Lift up to 60 pounds repetitively.
* Assist in center inventory and tagging procedures.
* Handling multiple tasks.
* Perform general labor duties as assigned.
* Customer service.
Qualified Candidate will be/have:
* Able to sit for extended periods in operation of equipment on varying surfaces (paved, dirt, multilevel)
* Able to climb up & down from cab heights with ease multiple times per hour.
* Must be able to work safely in a busy mulch yard, judging distances and operating equipment with precision.
* Must be able to work affectively in extreme outdoor climate(s) - cold, heat, rain, fog
* Great customer service skills
* Assist in nursery yard when not loading or unloading trucks.
* Open to weekend work
