The HouseCalls Pharmacy team provides a variety of Medication Therapy Management services ranging from comprehensive medication reviews to targeted clinical interventions to address specific health conditions.  All services are provided by a team of clinical pharmacists that interact with plan members and their healthcare providers.


 


The Quality Clinical Pharmacist will report into the HouseCalls Pharmacy Quality Manager and support broad initiatives to oversee, monitor and improve Pharmacy program offerings.  In support of this responsibility, the individual will execute oversight and monitoring processes in an effort to verify that established quality standards are being achieved.   Additionally, the Quality Pharmacist will support process improvement opportunities to improve the value of our services for clients, patients and their care providers.


 


 

***Daily shifts will range anywhere from 8:00am - 9:00pm EST, Monday through Friday, with rotating Saturday shifts 1x month***

 


 


Primary Responsibilities:




  • Be accountable for the timely evaluation of Pharmacy services to assure that established quality standards are being met


  • Document all quality review efforts according to established quality oversight protocols - examples include the review of clinical consultations conducted with members, provider engagement and pharmacy program materials


  • Assist Clinical Team Managers by providing recorded calls for scheduled QA reviews and as requested


  • Assist in updating Pharmacy Quality form templates for use across all business segments


  • Assist with researching and implementing Health Literacy best practices within all team service offerings


  • Assist with the implementation and monitoring of a quality review process that measures performance goals related to Medicare Star measures, Health Literacy standards, clinical practice standards and core program objectives


  • Review  and document key performance indicators during  quality review processes


  • Assist with review and accurately interpret resources such as clinical practice guidelines, primary literature, pharmacy quality alliance measures and other relevant sources to assist with developing or updating standards across all lines of business


  • Assist with training Team Managers and staff (e.g. new hires) on quality review programs


  • Maintain proficiency and build knowledge to support Stars and Quality goals within Pharmacy Services


  • Ability to work well with internal and external participants is essential


  • Must be capable of setting priorities and maintaining documentation for several projects simultaneously

Requirements

Required Qualifications:


  • Current and unrestricted pharmacist licensure in the State of FL or MD
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working as a clinical pharmacist
  • Ability to navigate MS Office and a Windows based environment and the ability to create, edit, save, and send documents utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to conduct Internet searches
  • Experience conducting research and analysis
  • Must live within a commutable distance of either our Elkridge, MD or Miramar, FL office locations
  • Comfortable with rapid change management and matrix environment 
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) 
  • Strategic vision with attention to detail 
  • Must be flexible to work an 8 hour shift between 8a - 9p, Monday - Friday, 1 night a week and 1 Saturday a month

 Preferred Qualifications:


  • Pharm D 
  • Completion of PGY1 and/or PGY2 pharmacy residency 
  • Experience in managed care pharmacy or health plan 
  • Experience in MTM (Medication Therapy Management) 
  • Experience working with the geriatric patient population 
  • Bilingual skills (fluency in Spanish/English)
  • Virtual training experience
