The Senior Consultant has the primary responsibility for the design and overall scientific direction of epidemiology research projects.  It is the Senior Scientist's responsibility to direct the project team scientifically, participate in the submission of the project deliverables to the client on time and on budget, and to ensure that the results are understood by the client.  The Senior Consultant will provide scientific leadership on one or more research projects and mentor Epidemiologists I – III.


 


Primary Responsibilities


  • Provide scientific direction and guide project execution in collaboration with the project team
  • Review analytic plans in collaboration with research analysts
  • Prepare protocols, deliverables, reports, manuscripts
  • Serve as internal senior scientist reviewer of contracted deliverables, presentations, publications
  • Direct client contact in collaboration with the project manager and team
  • Direct presentation of results to clients with or without project team
  • Serve as mentor to Epidemiologists I – III

 

Requirements

Required Qualifications:


  • Doctoral degree in epidemiology or related field, OR MD degree and Masters in epidemiology/public health, OR Masters in epidemiology/public health and relevant experience
  • 7+ years experience

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Advancement to another level requires demonstrated achievement in at least 2 of the 4 categories listed below:

    • Scientific project management: within project teams, extraordinary job on deliverables, accolades from client, manage particularly large or complex projects, consistently on time and budget, take on extra project
    • Scientific contribution: to your individual projects, or to other projects, mentoring other epidemiologists, final review of projects, publications, presentations at scientific meetings, participation in professional organizations, plan scientific direction of company
    • Training/administration: developing training efforts, training less experienced epidemiologists, building company wide tools/guidelines/process
