Nurse Leadership Opportunity!  Phoenix, AZ!  

 

The Nurse Supervisor, Utilization Management is responsible for the day to day staff management and operations for utilization management, utilization review, prior authorization, and/or concurrent review (telephonic outpatient care management).  As the Nurse Supervisor, Utilization Management you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the daily activities, team performance, team engagement and workflow for up to 20 employees.

Additional Responsibilities will include:


  • Ensures that high quality standards are met and maintained

  • Monitors the work queues to ensure turnaround compliance timeframes are met

  • Ensures staff is educated and informed of changes (P&P, state and regulatory, department and corporate levels)

  • Manages training of new employees, both clinical and non-clinical

  • Identifies area of opportunity for process improvement

  • Contributor for production of metrics to include new medical necessity products for Western Region UHC Legacy and Legacy PHS platforms

  • Completes monthy performance scorecards and conducts annual reviews

  • Monitors attendance annd ensures attendance policy adherence

  • Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completions

  • Coordinates work activities with other supervisors

  • Identifies and resolves operational problems using defined processes, expertise, and judgement.

Requirements

Requirements:



  • Current and unrestricted RN License 

  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience

  • Strong computer proficiency with the ability to type and navigate around a Windows based environment

  • Must be able to work on call once a month

 

Desired Assets:


  • Previous experience in a leadership role (i.e. Supervisor, Manager or Team Lead) is highly preferred

  • Utilization Management experience is highly preferred

  • Knowledge of Milliman Care Guidelines is highly preferred

  • BSN

  • Managed Care experience

  • Experience working in a telephonic role in an office based setting

  • Experience managing a team in a production environment

  • Experience managing a team of 10 or more employees is a plus!
