This Associate Director of Network Contracting leads a team responsible for developing the provider network for Arkansas and Western Tennessee. We seek an individual with previous leadership and managerial experience. The team is responsible for developing a network that is geographically competitive, has broad access, and achieves objectives for unit cost performance and trend management. Also, the network should produce an affordable and predictable product for customers and business partners. Associate Directors of Network Contracting evaluate and negotiate contracts in compliance with company contract templates, reimbursement structure standards, and other key process controls. Responsibilities also include establishing and maintaining strong business relationships with Hospital, Physician, Pharmacy, or Ancillary providers, and ensuring the network composition includes an appropriate distribution of provider specialties.


 


This role covers Arkansas and Western Tennessee. Products include Commercial, Medicare and TennCare. The ideal location is Little Rock, AR. Tennessee locations will also be considered.


 


 


Primary Responsibilities:



  • Utilize UHN/UHC process experience, external physician provider management experience working with high level C-Suite staff, and experience with multiple products (E&I, C&S, M&R)

  • Lead team consistent with UHG values and mission

  • Develop functional, market level, and/or site strategy, plans, production and/or organizational priorities

  • Apply network configuration and incentive-based payment models as appropriate to improve quality and efficiency

  • Identify and resolve technical, operational and organizational problems Product, service or process decisions are most likely to impact entire functions and/or customer accounts (internal or external)

Requirements


Required Qualifications:



  • 5+ years of experience in the health care industry

  • 4+ years of supervisory experience

  • 4+ years of experience in a network management-related role handling complex network providers with accountability for business results


  • 4+ years proven ability to build strong relationships with providers

  • 3+ years developing and delivering presentations to external and internal audiences
     

 


Desired Qualifications:



  • 2+ years of experience in the development of product pricing and utilizing financial modeling in making rate decisions

  • 2+ years of experience managing a medical cost and administrative budget

  • Expert level of knowledge of Medicare reimbursement methodologies such as Resource Based Relative Value System (RBRVS), DRGs, Ambulatory Surgery Center Groupers, etc.

  • 2+ years of experience with provider contracting

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills, establishing rapport and working well with others

  • Undergraduate or higher level degree
