Title: Supervisor of Distribution
Reports to: Distribution Manager
· Forecasting and responding to production volume and manpower needs in order to maximize productivity and ensure quality
· Training, developing, and supervising non-exempt associates
· Developing and implementing methods and procedures to improve efficiency and safety of operations
· Maintaining the security of all merchandise and capital equipment in assigned departments
· Promoting and maintaining high employee morale and safety
· Coaching and counseling employee performance and attendance issues
· Other duties as assigned
· Previous Distribution Center management experience
· Experience with distribution systems preferred
· Retail experience preferred
Education
· Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent experience
Dick's Sporting Goods operates 4 state-of-the-art distribution centers; One in Smithton, PA near Pittsburgh, one in Plainfield, IN near Indianapolis, one in Atlanta, GA and one in Goodyear, AZ near Phoenix. Associates at our distribution centers are responsible for the final transportation of merchandise to the sales floor. Our crucial team members literally "deliver" the Dick's experience to our customers.
