  • Location: University of Texas at Dallas, 800 W Campbell Rd, Richardson, TX 75080.  Note: online applications accepted only.
  • Schedule: Shift hours and days will vary based on catering demands.
  • Requirement: Office experience and or sales experience preferred.  Food Handlers permit and TABC certified and ability to serve alcohol, also preferred.

Summary: Provides administrative and clerical support to Catering Director in the Catering Department function. This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Summary:  Engage with the clients and the customers, on their catering orders.  Detail oriented and has good business sense.  Available to work a varied schedule, can work in a fast pace environment, with interruptions, and some office work.  This position requires someone who will be able to adjust to change, can work out on the floor during a catering function and cold call, suggestive sell, create relationships and guide clients on menu options for their group.  Billing and reconciling invoices as well as working closely with the accounting office. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Answers telephone and directs calls accordingly.
  • Schedules events and meeting rooms.
  • Communicates effectively with customers, coworkers and management.
  • Operates office machines, including printers, copiers and personal computers.
  • Supports distribution of key communications and other materials.
  • Maintains and updates department's filing system.
  • Maintains office supply inventory; orders supplies as needed.
  • Responds to routine questions about catering events and services.
  • Types general correspondence, memos, catering menus and orders; some composition required; responsiblie for accuracy and clarity of final content.
  • Performs data entry (e.g. invoices, department transfers, inventory, work orders, etc.).
  • Researches outstanding Accounts Payable, providing information to Catering Director.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
