Senior IT Operating System Consultant - Telecommute

Primary Responsibilities:

• Evaluates system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility


• Analyze all aspects of the existing infrastructure and recommends modifications that will enhance system reliability, availability, serviceability and scalability


• Work with teammates, clients and other teams to identify and address systems problems


• Evaluate new developments and recommend infrastructure modifications


• Provide in depth consultation to application teams on a variety of different applications


• Assist in defining standards, guidelines, best practices and metrics


• Participates in the development of business strategy


• Develops and manages business plans to achieve objectives


• Leads large, complex projects to achieve key business objectives


• Solves unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business


• Translates highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
  
  
  

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of UNIX(AIX and Linux) experience


• 5+ years of administration experience with middleware technologies such as JBoss  5.1/EAP 6.x, IBM WebSphere v7/v8.x, and Tomcat


• 5+ years of knowledge and expertise in Jacl/Jython and Shell scripting


• 5+ years of experience with  Java Middleware Platform 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree


• Knowledge of JEE/J2EE standards to include JDBC, JMS, JS and JSP along with familiarity with XML files


• Proficient with middleware performance tuning tools using DyanTrace/Server Vantage


• Experience in attending performance test calls and tuning the environment for both WAS and Jboss


• Willing to work in a fast paced environments/ work closely with other infrastructure teams


• Required excellent written and communication skills


• Oncall support 24x7
