The Healthcare Provider Network Market Consultant will travel throughout a defined territory in Hawaii to meet with medical groups and providers to discuss OptumInsight tools and programs focused on improving the quality of care for Medicare Advantage and Medicaid Members.   This candidate will be utilizing data and analytics identify and target medical groups, providers and staff who will benefit from our Medicare Risk Adjustment training and documentation and coding resources as well as utilizing data analysis and consulting skills, identify deficiencies in clinic processes and develop comprehensive, provider-specific plans that result in improved outcomes and Risk Adjustment performance.  

Candidates will educate providers on how to improve their Risk Adjustment Factor (RAF) scores, which measure patient health status, including how to close gaps in care and accurately assess patients at the time of care.  This position will involve working proactively work with physicians, medical groups, IPAs and hospitals, to build positive, long-term, consultative relationships as well as develop tailored, specific, comprehensive group and provider quality programs to ensure members are being seen, receiving preventative care and screenings for chronic conditions.  This candidate will train providers on Clinical Initiatives and Risk Adjustment programs and tools, and work toward the adoption of these programs into their practices.  The candidate will also collaborate with medical groups, doctors, coders, facility staff and a variety of internal and external personnel on a wide scope of Quality and Risk Adjustment education efforts.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Ability to travel  50% of the time, primarily throughout Honolulu.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Provider or Health Plan setting.
  • Experience with Managed Care and Medicare programs.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Risk adjustment experience.
  • Provider Relations experience.
  • CPC designation or Coding experience.
