Cad Technician

Aerotek Energy is currently seeking an experienced AutoCAD/Microstation Drafter for a long-term, full time opportunity in the Vancouver, WA area. This position will be a 6 month contract to hire position through Aerotek for a leading engineering company in the area. All applicants will be contacted ASAP and screened.

designer/technician with at least 4-5 years of experience in understanding schematic diagrams and prepare relay and control rack layout and wiring diagrams, create bill of material. Candidates will have strong experience with Electrical drafting and design experience in AutoCAD. Drafting and Design and Microstation is strong preferred, but candidates with direct electrical and utility experience in AutoCAD will be strongly considered.

responsible for developing and leading all aspects of medium-voltage and high-voltage substation design. The successful candidate must have experience in the areas of substation design from the 12 kV to 500 kV levels, as well as an understanding of substation components, development of single line diagrams, substation layout and related electrical studies. This Electrical drafter will work under the technical direction of an Engineering manager and the Responsible Electrical Engineer, when appropriate.

*Having a key role in the development of application documents to define design for high-voltage substation projects
*Develop substation one line diagram, substation plan and elevation drawings, grounding plans, lightning shielding plans, construction details,, bills of material, conduit and cable layouts and schedules, etc.
*Carry out/review/analyze complex technical studies and project scopes; develop and review technical specifications, drawings and standards of equipment/ projects.
