Overview:
Manages all activities involved in space management and section merchandising for the assigned categories for the assigned market(s) or customer team.
Responsibilities:
- Recruit, train, supervise, monitor and evaluate direct reports to include completion of Performance Agreements.
- Establish and maintain a partnership with Business Managers & Retail Managers with regards to space management related issues.
- Establish and maintain a partnership with customers with regards to space management related issues that impact Acosta's clients.
- Oversee the preparation of space management related presentation-ready materials needed to complete category reviews to include charts, graphs, velocity reports, financial information and plan-o-gram layouts.
- Work with clients to establish customer specific shelving objectives to be accomplished in agreed upon time frames.
- Establish and maintain a library of successes for each client as pertaining to space management, to be used in annual business reviews with our clients and customers.
- Demonstrate the ability to represent the space management function in new principal interviews by being able to present and communicate the value of space management to the overall sales process.
- Utilize and understand IRI and ACNielsen syndicated scanning data used to generate the information necessary for space management systems.
- Coordinate all space management activities with the Regional Space Tech Manager & the Divisional Marketing Manager.
- Maintain ongoing contact with the Category Managers and/or department heads at all key customers in the market or within the customer team; assist them in their space management process.
- Routinely visit customers with Business Managers. Assist in conducting store audits to view merchandising and inventory requirements in assigned categories.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry level work experience with 3-5 years experience utilizing space management software.
- Must have prior work experience in data analysis and space management systems and demonstrate a fundamental understanding of the technology required to operate and maintain such systems.
- Must have a high degree of proficiency in Windows and related software applications including spreadsheets, word processing, graphics, e-mail, database management, and Prospace, Apollo, or Spaceman.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with others.
- Must be able to operate a calculator, computer, printer, fax machine, telephone and copy machine.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
