Looking for experience in information technology? Information Technology Interns have the unique opportunity to experience what it is truly like to support the Universal Parks and Resorts Information Technology department.
Information Technology Interns at Universal Parks & Resorts are responsible for:
- Assisting with user support requests.
- Assisting with computer, hardware, and software setup.
- Assisting with resolving problems with software products and systems.
- Designing, running, and monitoring software tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging.
- Understanding and assisting with software and hardware inventory management.
- Understanding and actively participating in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policies, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
To perform the role of an Information Technology Intern successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Must be actively enrolled in school.
- Must be pursuing a degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA preferred.
- Must have strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Must have strong written, verbal communication skills.
- Must be proficient with computers and have general knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Networking experience strongly preferred.
- Must be willing to work 20-40 hours per week Monday – Friday.
The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of the Information Technology Intern job.
- While performing the duties of this job, the individual may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
- While performing the duties of this job, the individual must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; climb or balance; and reach with hands and arms.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships), Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
