The Manager, Merchandise Planning and Replenishment is responsible for leading the merchandise planning for given shops. This entails the development and execution of merchandise plans, merchandise forecasts, and assortment plans. Responsible for planning and managing the execution of replenishment for all basic articles for each business; while maintaining DC and store in-stock positions, service levels, and basic inventory levels within a DMM area. Manage the Open to Buy in each business. Manage the execution of replenishment and allocation for all seasonal and fashion articles for each business. Develop and execute overall strategies and initiatives to improve forecasting, replenishment, and allocation systems and processes. Define and implement the best practices for servicing the DCs and the stores.

Scope
  • Oversees development of sales, margin, and inventory financial plans and forecasts for their buyers in accordance with buyers’ strategies and initiatives.
  • Accountable for maintaining the Open to Buy (OTB) and informing/making recommendations to appropriate management before limits are exceeded. Develops, executes and manages forecast processes.
  • Reviews and updates the optimal targets for velocity codes, WOS inventory goals, vendor lead times and order frequencies.
  • Works to ensure inventory levels are maintained at site level based on sales projections and inventory targets.
  • Manages and executes processes for replenishment of basic articles. Develop and execute strategies for improving fundamental processes and business analysis as well as system integration.
  • Coaches and develops a team of planners and analyst. Develops and communicates performance goals, evaluates performance, and provides constructive feedback on a timely basis.
Education Requirements
  • Minimum: Bachelors Degree (Major - Finance/Accounting, Merchandising, Business, Marketing, Statistics, Operations Research, Logistics)
  • Preferred: Masters Degree / MBA (Major - Finance/Accounting, Merchandising, Business, Marketing, Operations Research, Logistics)
Experience
  • Minimum: 5+ years of experience in replenishment, forecasting, allocation, merchandise planning, supply chain or related environment, analytical retail experience and experience in high article count retail systems. Strong background in managing the Scope, and implementation of complex projects related to statistical forecasting, replenishment, allocation, and vendor-related activities. Ability to work well in a team environment, possess effective interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills.
