Fabrication Job Description: Our client is looking for a CNC Machinst on 2nd shift. The second shift hours are 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm (Mon-Fri). Those who choose to do OT can come in an hour earlier or stay an hour later.
Job Duties
- Lot's of repair work on Dies
- Production takes top priority; so if there is broken punch; then he/she will be responsible to repair that punch
- Welding is a PLUS. They need someone who is willing to learn if they don't have that skill.
- Mostly taking sawed off blocks and making it to spec
- Running CNC & Manual Machines
- Work with engineering on development of new dies
They have 3 Vertical Haas Mills, 2 Horizontal Haas Lathes and 1 Cincinnati CNC machine.
Only one 1 layoff in 30 year during 2009 downturn and they brought him back
Work Environment: - Very easy going and laid back enviornment; but it is expected to get the work done!
- Everyday is different.
- Huge 250-300 person facility in the middle of Amanda, OH which is south of Lancaster.
They specialize in custom manufacturing of cold formed parts and components for automotive, lawn and garden, heavy duty trucks, highway, housing, utility construction (electric and water), recreational, environmental, and farming.
They have been a leader in the cold forming of steel into special fasteners and formed rods. These specialized products are destined for assembly into automotive and lawn and garden products, as well as various industrial and consumer items in the highway construction, housing, utility, recycling and irrigation markets. Qualifications: Musts
- CNC Machining experience***("that wil repair dies")
- Set up, edit/program the machine, set the tools to heights, set the block in and machine the part from scratch to completion"
- Ability to use/program a control
- Ability to read blueprints/calps/mics
- Attendence & Attitude
**CNC is more important than manual

- Manual machining experience (grinders) Performance Expectations: - Mostly day to day in getting the job done
- Attendence is crucial
- expected to move to second shift from training after 2-3 weeks if even needed.
- work day in/ day out with william saygrove to get him up to speed. Additional Compensation: They have profit shairing which equated out to about 3.50/hr last year. Options to pay out 80% quarterly and remaining 20% end of year or roll into hourly pay.
They get 1 week vacation years 1&2 and then 2 weeks after that.
