Local Welder, Willing to Travel

Are you an experienced welder looking to travel? Our client based in Petersburg is currently seeking someone like you! This full-time, long-term position has the potential for hire and is offering a competitive pay rate. Candidates must be we willing travel four (4) to five (5) days per week, including overnight and out-of-state. Job duties include, but are not limited to: * Reading and comprehending blueprints and sketches to obtain the specifications of the project. * Measuring, cutting, and preparing parts to be welded or fabricated. * Clamping, holding, tack welding-heat-bending, bolting, and/or grinding parts as necessary to satisfy the requirements of a successful welded final product. * Welding parts in various directions - flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead, etc. * Operating equipment and performing tasks necessary for welding metal such as fusing segments, using gas tungsten arc, metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, and other types of welding arcs. * Operating fabricating machines such as rolls, shears, and flame cutters. * Monitoring the fitting, burning, and welding processes. * Inspecting and verifying finished product meet documented specifications. * Maintaining a clean and safe work station/environment by complying with procedures, rules/regulations, and safety guidelines. Preferred qualifications: * High school diploma or GED. * Previous welding or fabricating experience and/or completion of a training program/certificate preferred. * Experience with MIG, TIG, and arc welding techniques. * Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols. * Good math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
