Associate Scientist

This position is responsible for conducting bioassays, such as ELISAs and cell-based assays in compliance with company quality and regulatory requirements. The candidate will be required to analyze data and follow good documentation practice.

• Plan and excute experiments, analyze and verify data and procedures with minimal supervision (Bioassay experience highly desirable)
• Perform cell culture and prepare laboratory reagents
• Preparing and reviewing study protocol and reports
• Write standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Require good written and verbal communication skills, good team work skills.
• Contribute to laboratory maintainence activities
• Train others as needed
• Ensure compliance with Emergent's quality and regulatory requirement and Good Documentation Practices
• Work in both a team environment as well as independently

Bachelors degree in Biology or related field with at least 3 years' experience or Master's degree in Biology or related field with at least 1 years experience is required. The position requires knowledge and experience of cell-based assays, ELISAs and Western blotting in a biopharmaceutical product development environment. The candidate must be proficient with cell culture techniques and performing bioassays. Assay validation or GXP environment experience is a plus. Must have strong technical, communication (oral, written, listening), and computer (e.g., MS excel) skills. Successful candidate must have a keen attention to detail and an excellent organization ability including working well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. An awareness of the importance of timelines in an industrial setting is required.
